Characteristics of titanium tube

1. Titanium tubes have plasticity. The elongation of high-purity titanium tubes can reach 50-60%, and the cross-sectional shrinkage can reach 70-80%. Although the strength of high-purity titanium tubes is low, a small amount of impurities and the addition of alloying elements in pure industrial titanium can significantly enhance its mechanical properties, making its strength comparable to that of high-strength. That is to say, as long as there are a small amount of interstitial impurities and other metal impurities in industrial pure titanium tubes, they can have both high strength and appropriate plasticity.

2. The specific strength (strength to weight ratio) of industrial pure titanium tubes is very high among metal structural materials. Its strength is equivalent to that of steel, but its weight is only 57% of that of steel.

3. Titanium tubes have strong heat resistance and can still maintain good strength and stability in an atmosphere of 500°C.

4. Titanium tubes also have good low-temperature resistance. Even at an ultra-low temperature of -250°C, they still have high impact strength and can withstand high pressure and vibration.

5. Titanium tubes have strong corrosion resistance, which is due to its particularly large affinity for oxygen, which can form a dense oxide film on its surface to protect titanium from medium corrosion. Therefore, titanium has good stability in acidic, alkaline, neutral salt water solutions and oxidizing media, and has better corrosion resistance than existing stainless steel and other non-ferrous metals.
